You can’t get much closer to the beach than Gylly Beach Cafe, where the sand almost comes in the door! Located bang on the gorgeous Gyllyngvase beach and with panoramic views of Falmouth Bay and Pendennis Castle, it’s the perfect place to chill out and watch the world go by.

Gylly Beach Cafe serves great locally sourced food throughout the day (The nachos are to die for!) and has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and features a stylish modern interior. The outdoor seating area is prefect for those sunnier days and is also dog friendly too meaning you can warm up with a hot chocolate after winter walkies on the beach. Blue Bar, Porthtowan Beach, Porthtowan

Sat in a perfect location overlooking Porthtowan beach on the North coast of Cornwall, the Blue Bar has got to be one of the best beach cafes to chill out, watch the waves roll in and admire the sun set.

The bar features a large outside seated terrace, perfect for soaking up the sun whilst al fresco dining. Inside theres a cosy ‘beach shack’ vibe complete with surfboards on the wall and panoramic bay window seats for those colder days.

Note: The Blue Bar usually closes during January through to February half term, so check their website below for opening times.

Kynance Cove Beach Cafe

We can’t think of a more beautiful place to enjoy a homemade Cornish cream tea than overlooking the stunning Kynance Cove on the Lizard Peninsula in West Cornwall. The fine golden sand, crystal clear waters and dramatic towering rock stacks give you possibly the best views in Cornwall.

Kyance Cove Cafe serves a wide selection of food and drinks, with a focus on local produce. Samples from the menu include fresh crab sandwiches, baguettes (and of course Cornish pasties)  with homemade cakes and ice cream for those with a sweet tooth. Freshly ground coffee, a variety of teas, cold drinks and milkshakes are perfect to whet your whistle and prepare you for the trek back to the car park.

The Beach Hut, Watergate Bay, Newquay

Set on Watergate Bay, a spectacular, two mile surfing beach about 3 miles from Newquay on the North coast, the Beach Hut is one of our favourite beach cafe’s in Cornwall. Popular with both locals and holiday makers, this beach hangout is always buzzing. There are great views from inside thanks to large panoramic windows, or if you want to feel the wind in your hair and smell the sea, the outside deck is perfect for relaxing with a coffee or enjoying local Cornish mussels whilst taking in the bustle from the beach.

With sand on the floor and a relaxed atmosphere, the food reflects this chilled out vibe, it’s open for breakfast lunch and dinner seven days a week, and you can walk in right off the beach and ask for a table!

The Watering Hole, Perranporth Beach, Perranporth

Just a 15-minute drive from Newquay, the Watering Hole is one of Cornwall’s coolest beach cafes, and famed for being the only bar located actually on the beach in the UK.

With a chilled out vibe by day, the Watering Hole is an instant hit with surfers, dog walkers and holiday makers. While at night the venue comes alive with it’s regular line up of comedy and live music gigs, and even a summer music festival, Tunes In The Dunes.

With the sand between your toes you can enjoy the simple pub grub and local brewery beers whilst making the most of the beautiful sunsets over Perranporth Beach on the north coast of Cornwall.

Life’s A Beach, Summerlease Beach, Bude

Life’s A Beach is famous for it’s relaxed, cheerful atmosphere both during the day as a beach cafe and into the evening when it transforms into a seafood bistro. The beach cafe overlooks Summerleaze beach in Bude, north Cornwall, with wonderful views of the Atlantic Ocean. There is plenty of room to sit outside on the veranda or cosy up inside and still enjoy the view. There is a wide ranging menu which uses fresh local produce and reflects the creativity and travelling experiences of the young chefs. Seafood is a speciality, prices are reasonable and the service is friendly…what’s not to like?!

The Hidden Hut, Porthcurnick Beach

The Hidden Hut – a secret gem tucked away overlooking Porthcurnick beach, near Portscatho and St Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula, Cornwall. A small but special outdoor spot where you can enjoy freshly cooked food with friends and family, all with a beautiful beach view.

By day you can enjoy simple beach-side refreshments including seasonal lunches, hot pasties, Cornish ice creams and freshly-baked cakes. By night, the hut opens on selected evenings to host fabulous open-air feast nights! These are outdoor, rustic nights where one dish is selected to showcase the best of the local produce, always cooked outdoors using either wood-fire, charcoal grill or huge Paella pans! The cafe is not licensed but you are more than welcome to take your own alcohol. So if you’re after a pitstop whilst walking the coast path or a night with a difference this is definitely worth a visit!

C-Bay Beach Cafe, Crantock Beach

At the C-Bay Beach Cafe you’ll be spoilt with stunning views over Crantock Beach on the outskirts of Newquay in North Cornwall and the coastline beyond, local food and drinks and a friendly atmosphere. Whatever the occasion, there is a view to match whether you’re inside, on the sun terrace or in the beautifully kept hillside garden. By day the beach cafe is popular with nearby hotel guests but also locals enjoying the delicious breakfasts, lunches, home-baked cakes and the popular Cornish Cream Teas served with Rodda’s cream and Boddington’s strawberry jam! Alcatraz Bar & Cafe, Perranporth Beach

Alcatraz is a new Bar & Cafe located on the cliff side of Perranporth, serving delicious food and drinks and offering spectacular views of Perranporth beach. Perranporth beach is one of the best places (in my opinion) to watch the sunset, so now you can do it with a cocktail in your hand! 

As well as the bar & cafe, downstairs offers surfboard hire, snacks and ice creams for those long lazy days by the beach.

Surfside Polzeath

Surfside is literally “on” the beach and there may be as much sand inside this cool cafe and bar as there is outside. Located on the popular surfing beach of Polzeath, near Padstow and Wadebridge in North Cornwall its a beautiful setting to relax and watch one of Polzeath’s beutiful sunsets.

Surfside prides itself on offering as much fresh, locally sourced seasonal food from Cornwall as possible with sustainability a big feature.

As well as delicious locally sourced food, Surfside also has its very own rum bar with a beach shack vibe that’ll make you feel like you’re in the Caribbean! Regular live music and BBQ nights really get the party started.
