We may be a little biased, but in our mind there’s no better place to watch a sunset than on a Cornish beach with the sand between your toes, the fresh sea breeze on your face and the soothing sounds of the waves lapping against the shore.
To show you just how magical they are, we recently took a trip to Holywell Bay beach, located just outside of Newquay and filmed the sunset. We clambered up the huge sand dunes to get the best view, put down a blanket and watched as the sky glowed pink and the sun dipped below the horizon, gull rock beautifully silhouetted to its side. They say the best things in life are free, and a sunset in Cornwall is certainly one of them 🙂 if you’re on holiday in Cornwall, make sure you take the time to see one!
A big tip for sunsetters…
Cornwall has lots of microclimates. If the weather is cloudy inland it doesn’t necessarily mean its cloudy on the coast and visa-versa, so before you set off check out our live beach webcams page, which will give you a great indication of what the weather is like on the coast!
